Peer Support

Research clearly shows the benefit of peer support programs and peer leaders. It is well known that people with a chronic condition often relate better to, and learn more from people who have the same chronic condition. The Society is keen to develop a peer support program as another avenue of assisting people with MS. Grant funding has been received from Community Benefit SA to develop a peer support program at the Society in 2008.

Peer leaders can be utilised to provide education and support, in on-line chat rooms, via the phone, face to face and by email. The Society is keen to develop a model which best suits people with MS in South Australia and is keen to hear any ideas from the MS community.
