Physiotherapists are concerned with the management of the physical implications of MS. The physiotherapist plays an important role in the assessment and management of symptoms such as spasticity (including stiffness and spasms), pain, weakness, poor coordination, fatigue and walking/balance issues. Physiotherapy intervention also aims to prevent secondary issues such as weakness due to inactivity, contractures, pain and musculoskeletal complications.
