Emergency Care Packages are now available from the MS Society. These packages are for people with MS who are experiencing a relapse, and require urgent assistance. The assistance can be in the form of an almost immediate intervention in regard to counselling, rehabilitation, personal care, household cleaning, meal preparation and assistance with daily living tasks such as shopping or laundry. The packages have been available since March 2008. Feedback from our members and their support team, clearly shows that the sudden nature of a relapse can take people by surprise. Subsequently, support systems may not be in place. These support packages will assist people with MS and their support team in managing a potential crisis.
