There are a number of in-person and online MS Peer Support groups across Adelaide, regional South Australia and Darwin offering support and connection for people living with MS, and their families and carers. Joining a support group is a great way to learn about MS, share experiences and make new friends.
Local MS Peer Support groups
Our MS Peer Support groups usually get together informally over coffee or a meal. The frequency of meetings is dependent on the group, but many of our support groups meet monthly. Some support groups gather to discuss specific multiple sclerosis issues and others get together for activities such as tennis and crafts.
Joining a support group is a great opportunity for people living with MS, and their families and carers, to meet new people and many of our members have made great friends. Our support groups are social and our members say they enjoy just getting together to learn about MS, share experiences, have a laugh and support each other.
Online MS Peer Support
We have set up private Facebook support groups so that people affected by MS have 24/7 peer support at their fingertips. Our online communities provide emotional support based on mutual understanding and respect.
Our private Facebook Peer Support groups include:
- My Society – for people living with MS in South Australia and Northern Territory.
- Family and friends of people living with MS – for people caring for a family member living with MS in South Australia and Northern Territory.
